After 30 years, Cosmos Returns to Television

Carl Sagan’s Emmy Award-winning hit Cosmos dominated the airwaves when it launched in 1980, and reruns continue to be popular to this day. So it makes sense that there is now an updated version of the show, and it stars none other than science megastar Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a 13-part series airing on multiple networks including Fox. Believe it or not, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is the primary reason the show exists, as he helped secure funding for the project.

The first episode aired on Sunday, and included an introduction from President Obama himself. You can watch the next installment this Sunday at 9:00 p.m.
